What we liked
- + Plugs directly onto the mic's XLR connector, so there is no extra box
- + Clean added gain helps low-output broadcast dynamics on modest interfaces
- + Compact metal barrel is easy to travel with in a mic bag
Trade-offs
- - Requires phantom power and only works with passive dynamic or ribbon mics
- - Single channel, so each extra mic needs its own FetHead
