What we liked
- + Up to +25dB of gain for dynamic and passive ribbon mics, using phantom power without passing it to the mic.
- + Variable impedance tone control and an instrument input add flexibility.
- + Listing positions it for podcasts, streaming and studio recording.
Trade-offs
- - It is a single-channel unit, while the CL-2 it replaces had two channels.
- - One of the pricier mic activators, so overkill if you only need a boost for one mic.
